NBA Draft Summary.

The Cavs picked who? Who's that? You're telling me he couldn't start in college, but we just picked him #4? Good grief, Cavs.

The center - Tyler Zeller - that we traded the other 75% of our draft to Dallas for, though, reminded me a little of a young Ilgauskas. Not allot, but a little.

I'm confused after this draft. Are we better? I can't tell.

NBA Draft Tonight

I'm going to be watching the draft tonight, and rooting for the Cavs to get... someone. I've been bouncing between Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Bradley Beal and Harrison Barns, depending on what the talking heads on the TV tell me. I'll be back later tonight with my opinion on their picks.

New Look

I've added a new look to the blog, adding a sunny front to my often gloomy outlook.

Yankees > Astros - Beware Tribe

Just a heads up for anyone who didn't already know this: the Yankees are good. They're much better then the Astros, who just held the Indians to four runs in three games while taking two of three. Now, we get to play the Yankees.

In New York.

On ESPN.

Nothing could possibly go wrong there!

Finals Opinion

I figured, with LeBron in the NBA Finals and the whole "Cleveland Hates LeBron" thing still simmering in some circles, I thought I should offer my opinion of the series: I don't really care a whole lot. The two teams I wanted to see win, Boston and San Antonio, are out, which makes me grumpy all the live long day. I found out that I liked the Celtics, once they stopped knocking the Cavs out of the playoffs.

I like OKC a good deal to be honest but I can't stand watching their home games. Their crowd drives me crazy-er with their chanting, hooting and other nonsense. I won't go into detail for everyone's sanity but in short I'm rooting for the Thunder.

Pirates vs. Indians, Ninjas Nowhere in Sight

The Tribe, after losing a series to the Reds, just lost one to the Pirates. Ok, the Reds I can see. They're playing well and have been a division contender for years now. I also know that we're mostly coasting on luck and timely hitting because we just don't have allot of talent. But the Pirates? They haven't had a winning season since 1992. They also beat us with the oft-maligned A.J. Burnett. I was adamant before the season that the Indians should NOT sign Burnett, after watching him implode in New York the last few years. Now he's helping the Pirates contend for the first time in two decades. Lovely. I guess he's their Derek Lowe, in a way. The Pirates have a better record then we do now (they didn't enter the series that way, mind you - we were both 32-30) so they're having a pretty good year I guess. Now we have to play the Reds again. I'm beginning to hate the NL Central.

Welcome to the Cave

I'm Rick Heil, and I'm from Akron, Ohio. I've been following Cleveland sports since I was old enough to and like anyone who follows the Indians, Browns and Cavs I have an opinion. Since this Internet thing seems popular I'm going to share my opinion here with everyone, and everyone is free to share theirs with me.

A word of warning: I am not a very rational sports fan. I overreact to both wins and losses. Just thought I'd warn everyone.
